Prizegiving and end of year celebration

Well, we have had another busy term! Tomorrow evening we all meet at 5.30pm and have our end of year celebration. Along with awarding cups, certificates and acknowledgements, we will be having a special guest (dressed in red) to speak to our tamariki. I’m sure our whanau and tamariki will find his talk relevant and inspirational! I’ll post a photo soon.

Camp

The Old School Class at Brayshaw Park 2011
We have just returned from our annual hikoi-roa. We stayed at Wairau and visited and learnt about some significant historical and geographical sites in the area. Re-playing the Wairau Affray was awesome, then we travelled on to Picton and boarded the Edwin Fox immigrant sailing ship. That was awesome! A whole week of excellent learning, weather, kai, people!

Swim Safe awards

We received our swim safe certificates for our achievements at the beginning of this year. The swim safe mascot came along and presented them!

Hapuku’s Oldest living pupil

Our tamariki taina went to town and sang to Mrs Aitken when she turned 100 years old. Imagine what school must have been like then – 95 years ago!!

Trash to Fashion

Tu meke koutou! We are so proud of all our tamariki and their contributions to this marvellous event.
