Office Administrator /Kaiwhakahaere Tari – 20 hrs per week, part-time, permanent
We are seeking a dedicated kaiwhakahaere tari /office administrator, to join our team at Te Kura o Hāpuku. The ideal candidate for this position will be developing an understanding of tikanga Māori, and some proficiency in te reo Māori which will be considered advantageous. Effective communication skills are a prerequisite, as the role involves reception and communicating across the kura to keep everyone well informed.
Key requirements for this role include robust administration skills, a basic understanding of Xero, accounts payable, and proficiency in utilising the Google suite, Microsoft, and Canva. The ability to manage the school’s website and Facebook accounts is integral, and training will be provided for tasks such as school enrolments and Hero, using Ministry of Education platforms and Apple School Manager.
In addition to these responsibilities, the role includes providing substantial support to the teaching tumuaki /principal, and serving as the secretary to our board of trustees. This involves compiling board agendas and minutes for distribution. Funding applications and organising hui come up regularly. Given our small kura, collaborative teamwork within the school environment is crucial, as the successful candidate will be an integral part of a close-knit team dedicated to our ākonga and kura.
